Hey, great start Arthur! OK, OK...now you have to explain why you're using green as a base for the skin tone?!?!?

Good morning Laurene ;)
So you've spot my new drawing, don't you ;)
Do you like Shrek?
So probably you like his wife Fiona too ;)
(Joke) ;)
I'm a big fan of one artists work...
Cuong Nguyen.
Search youtube for his video samples pls ;)
The answer is there ;)
His method is to block skin tones with green, this is how he's creating skin tones...
I might fail suddenly by trying to do the same thing, without having any idea how to do it properly ... ;)
But this is learning piece of drawing, and when if not at this stage should I practice different techniques, whether they would work for me or not ;)
This is why there's green ;)
Lets try it of it works ;)
Thank you and check him out, you'll see what I mean ;)
Best regards ;)

I'm really amazed at the skin tone Arthur. I never would have imagined that such a realistic skin tone could be achieved over a green base! Well done!

Hi my friends.
There's nothing more to say, other than I'm keep working on this portrait every time and then.
I'm making slow progress being careful to keep details of the face as real as possible.
I wish it was looking more realistic, to confuse viewer whether he's looking at the real person or drawing...
I hope the practice will make my further drawings a bit better ;)
This is what the practice is for, isn't it ;)
Thank you for watching ;)

Hi my dear friends ...
I'd like to share some more progress on the hair style...
I'm trying to make more depth, more natural, hopefully more realistic effect.
The detailed work is taking much of time ;)
Seems like working on the darkest parts of the hair, will force me to rework the neck shadows, that's looks too light at the moment , compared to the dark parts of the hair ;)
All comments and critiques/suggestions much welcome, but bear in mind I'm still adjusting this drawing as I go, so the things are keep changing as you know ;)
Thank you for watching ;)

Hi my dear friends...
I have just finished my latest drawing of my wife Magdalena ;)
I can not do any better than this at the moment.
It was meant to be practice piece only, so it is ;)
It's my second drawing made with pastel pencils, so there is lots to be improved yet ;)
Any comments, critiques very welcome !!!
Thank you for following my progress ;)

No one would ever know that this is only your second pastel drawing. The skin tones look spot on to me, which amazed me since you started with a green base!! Congratulations Artur. I think this is your best portrait (so far, that is ;) ) !

Thank you for your keen support Laurene ;)
I hope I've learnt something on this drawing, so I'll improve at the next one ;)
I'm still thinking what the subject for the next drawing, but I guess it'll be my wife's grandpa, he passed away few years ago, all the family is missing him...
That would be great, if I could capture him on my next drawing, and if I could manage to pass his good heart into the portraiture...
Thank you Laurene ;)
