Pastel pencils - Leopards eyes

The animal and wildlife forum concentrates on drawings of all animals, from domestic pets to wildlife - anything dressed in fur, feathers or scales. The emphasis is on drawing but paintings are also acceptable.

Pastel pencils - Leopards eyes

Postby onlineart » Sun Nov 20, 2016 5:53 pm

Hi everyone - I think it must be about a month or 2 back now that I did this small test piece - my 1st with coloured pastel pencils.

Its about 10 in wide.

I was surprised, but delighted at how much easier pastels are than coloured pencils (well for me anyway)
hope you like it.

I can't see the image in your first post Jason, but is this the owl drawing you have posted on your youtube channel? If it is, I've looked at it and it's really impressive to see the results you're getting with pastel pencils! It seems to be a natural progression for a graphite artists.

EDIT: I hadn't noticed that it said leopard eyes in the title. I found it on youtube and it's a treat to watch how pastel pencils can give such high detail!
